When I was told I was going to be getting this as an ARC I was like, I though this was supposed to be a third book in the second chances series? LP of course told me it was and that it was about Mason and Claire...... My brilliant mind went who the hell are they?!? So I started doing searches through the second book to figure out who these two people were, and I was like omg duh! Book two starts to give us a little bit of information on Bradley Mason (Melissa'a cousin) and Claire O'Briane (Melissa's ex-sister-in-law) but not much on a personal level.

In book three we find out the at the wedding of Brent an Melissa, Mason and Claire decide to give into their feelings for the night. Can Mason look past his fears to commit to Claire, or will he break her heart.

This is a really great book, and if you follow my post you know I don't like to give away spoilers to any books. I have read lots of books and for me this was an interesting take on a romance/love story. Mason is a classic bad boy grown up, who has realized true what the real world is like and that it isn't always pretty. Claire is a classic spoiled girl who is used to getting her way and trying to always see the good, unfortunately that all comes crashing down on her when she puts her trust in someone from her past who she is still trying to find the good in.

The love between Mason and Claire was just written beautifully, it is that kind of love that we all hope to find just once in our lives. We watch their was walls and defenses come tumbling down and as the books goes further along we watch it bloom into something amazing by the end.

Meant for Me is the story of Mason and Claire who we met in Trusting You, but don't worry Meant for You is a Stand Alone novel. Yes, we do get flashbacks of the previous book, but it is just to explain things that contribute to this book. Keeping you in the know even if you haven't read Trusting You (which I highly recommend).

Meant for Me had me hooked from the very first page, after reading Trusting You I had a soft spot for Mason and Claire and I hoped that we would have a chance to possibly see them have their very own happily ever after. A one night stand where Mason panicked and Claire was hoping for it to be the start of something new, Claire is left heartbroken when Mason returns his home on the other side of the country. Fast forward four months and Mason returns to California in hopes to make things right with Claire before he leave for a very dangerous undercover mission in Las Vegas. When Claire sees Mason again near her home, she is both mad and curious to why he is there but she has moved on and can no longer deal with the back and forth feelings she has for Mason...or can she. Seeing as Claire will not speak to him Mason writes Claire a letter telling her exactly how he feels, what he doesn't expect was Claire showing up in Vegas to help him with his case. You see Claire has a past in Vegas that allows her access to places that Mason can't get to alone. Together they enter this Underground MMA fighting world to try to uncover who is being the grisely murders of MMA fighters.

Yeah, that is all the details you are going to get from me about the storyline, you are just going to have to read Meant for Me yourself to find out. What I will tell you is that L.P. Dover hit this out book out of the park, I was swooning during some scenes and holding on the the edge of my seat in others as Mason and Claire jumped in head first into this mysterious underground world. Mason and Claire will grab onto your heart and have you rooting for them. Not to mention we get to see Melissa and Brett again along with some new faces like Tyler. I am hoping that maybe we will hear more about Tyler in the future.
This is the first book I have read from this series and it will not be the last. When it says it is a stand alone, it truly is. Filled with MMA action, mystery, suspense and a whole lot of heat, this book was beyond difficult to put down. Months after Mason broke Claire's heart, Mason and Claire are brought back together in not very ideal circumstances. Claire and Mason are both less then perfect and very likable at the same time. I think what I liked best about this story was seeing how the characters' pasts formed their present and future. If you are not a fan of MMA or are new to the sport, that should not really impact your enjoyment of the story. I am a boxing fan and new little about MMA and never felt lost in the lingo like I do in some sports themed books. I am very glad I one clicked this book and am going to start the first book in the series asap.
Meant for Me was an interesting read. I knew I needed to finish it so that I could see if I was right about the way things were going to go down. I liked Mason and Claire enough, but I didn’t really connect with them as well as I would have liked. I kind of wish Mason had to do more groveling at the beginning after breaking Claire’s heart. I also kind of didn’t understand if Claire was so heartbroken, how she ended up in a fairly serious relationship so quickly. I mean it was only 4 months after her break-up and she was pretty sure the new guy was going to propose to her.

The suspense part of the novel was pretty easy to figure out, but I don’t think that it wasn’t supposed to be. There were also some other things that I knew were going to happen the minute that certain scenes happened. I don’t feel like that deterred from the story at all. There were some creepy characters in this book, ones that I really just cringed when they were on the page.

Overall, this was an enjoyable book. I’ve read one of the other books in the series, but I am thinking I might have to jump in and at least read Melissa, Cooper and Matt’s books. Then we’ll see where I go from there.
